An RSS 2.0 feed (Really Simple Syndication) is a format used to publish frequently updated information such as news headlines.
Other names include "feed", "web feed" or "channel".
A feed allows a user to keep up to date with information without needing to constantly check a web page for changes.
In order to use an RSS feed, you will need special software know as a "feed reader" or "aggregator".
A user subscribes to a feed by entering the address of the feed into the reader software, or by clicking the
RSS icon

on a web page, which initiates the
subscription process.
